🇮🇪3️⃣0️⃣🇻🇦 Il 19 ottobre, nella bellissima sala "Primaticcio" del "Palazzo Firenze", nella sede romana della Società Dante Alighieri, nell'ambito del 30° anniversario delle relazioni diplomatiche tra Georgia e Santa Sede , si è svolta la presentazione della traduzione italiana della raccolta poetica - "Nelle rovine di un sogno" del famoso poeta, traduttore e orientalista georgiano, il professor Giorgi Lobzhanidze.

🇬🇪30🇻🇦 Il 9 settembre, nell'ambito degli eventi celebrativi del 30° anniversario dell’istituzione delle relazioni diplomatiche tra la Georgia e la Santa Sede, con l’organizzazione dell’ambasciata di Georgia in Vaticano, nella Sala Accademica della Musica Sacra, si è tenuto un concerto del famoso violinista georgiano Sandro Tigishvili e dell'orchestra d’archi "Georgian Chamber Soloists" da lui fondata. L'orchestra d’archi fondata nel 2021 riunisce giovani musicisti georgiani talentuosi. Durante il concerto sono state eseguite miniature del famoso compositore georgiano Sulkhan Tsintsadze, create da lui sulla base della musica folcloristica georgiana.

🇮🇪3️⃣0️⃣🇻🇦 Nei giorni 27-28 aprile, si è tenuta a Palazzo Ferraioli la mostra "Colors of Wine" dell'artista Tamar Maglaferidze-Dadeshkeliani, organizzata dall'Ambasciata della Georgia presso la Santa Sede e dal rappresentante dell'azienda "8 Millennium " in Italia, Tamar Chichiboshvili.

Il 7 aprile, l'Ambasciata di Georgia presso la Santa Sede, in collaborazione con l’accademia di Pesaro Renata Tebaldi e di Mario Del Monaco e il Ministero della Cultura di Adjara, presso la Basilica papale di San Paolo Fuori Le Mura ha presentato il concerto Pasquale, Stabat Mater di G.B. Pergolesi. Al concerto, insieme ad altri ospiti invitati, hanno partecipato rappresentanti del corpo diplomatico accreditati presso la Santa Sede, della Segreteria di Stato di Santa Sede e del campo accademico. 🇬🇪3️⃣0️⃣🇻🇦L'evento si è svolto nell'ambito del 30° anniversario delle relazioni diplomatiche tra la Georgia e la Santa Sede.

Il 2 ottobre, l'Oratorio Caravita ha ospitato un concerto di beneficenza del Coro Polifonico Musica Creator, diretto dal Maestro Laura Gogiashvil, musicista, organista e cantante georgiana. Un gesto di gratitudine al popolo italiano che negli ultimi anni ha accolto molti immigrati georgiani.

For the first time in the diplomatic relations between Georgia and the Holy See, two memoranda of understanding were signed in the framework of President Salome Zourabichvili’s official visit to Vatican. The agreements on education and culture were called “very important” by the President, who underlined their priority directions for the future development of Georgia. The President also emphasized the importance to preserve and deepen traditions and Christian values of Georgia. “One such traditional value is tolerance, which has been a historical reality for Georgia. People of all religions and faiths are accepted in Georgia, which is one of the centers of intercultural dialogue that we must maintain. Cooperation with [the Holy See] on this path will be very important,” stated the President.

In the framework of President Salome Zourabichvili’s official visit to the Holy See, the church of San Salvatore ai Monti in Rome was granted to the Georgian parish of Rome in a formal agreement after years of use by the local Georgian community. The President held discussions on this issue with Cardinal Angelo De Donatis, Vicar General of His Holiness, after which she attended a service at the church with Protopresbyter Giorgi Zviadadze, Rector of the Tbilisi Theological Academy and Seminary. The President congratulated Father John, head of the Saint Andrew the First Georgian Parish in Rome, and spoke about the importance of the Church for Georgians living abroad:

President Salome Zourabichvili held an audience with His Holiness Pope Francis as part of her official visit to the Holy See, during which the two sides emphasized that a new phase of bilateral cooperation began with this visit and highlighted the deepening and strengthening of bilateral relations in culture, education and science. The President discussed the situation in the South Caucasus and Georgia’s role in the mediation between Armenia and Azerbaijan, noting that without dialogue, it is impossible to overcome conflicts and deescalate the situation. The President also spoke about the dire humanitarian situation and human rights violations in the occupied territories of Georgia, including restrictions on the freedom of movement and kidnappings, as well as the difficult situation for Georgian Orthodox churches in the occupied territories.

President Salome Zourabichvili secured an agreement with the Bambino Gesu Children’s Hospital of the Holy See in Rome to let Georgian medical staff and biologists receive training there for several weeks and to receive the Hospital’s assistance in rare medical cases and pediatric diagnoses. The agreement was reached in the framework of the President’s official visit to the Holy See.

n the framework of President Salome Zourabichvili’s official visit to the Holy See, a reception was held to promote Georgian culture and polyphonic folkloric songs at the Palazzo della Cancellaria with the participation of the Basiani Music Ensemble. During the event, the President addressed guests, which included diplomats accredited to the Vatican, about Georgian culture, traditions and values: “Georgia has been a country of tolerance for centuries, which is one of our hallmarks. Today tolerance is under threat in many ways. We also see polarization in Georgia, which we must oppose by sharing common values. Strengthening these values, we need solidarity and support in many areas, because Georgia is a small country.
