Giorgi Margvelashvili, President of Georgia has held a meeting with Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States within the Holy See's Secretariat of State.
President Margvelashvili remembered Pope Francis’s visit to Georgia in 2016 and underscored its importance.
The meeting focused on Georgia’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and occupied territories where human rights are recurrently violated. President Margvelashvili has thanked Paul Richard Gallagher for visiting the occupation line in Khurvaleti.
President Margvelashvili has also highlighted the importance of high-level visits that further advance relations between Georgia and the Holy See.
Prospects for developing cultural and educational cooperation have also been discussed.
